Michael Widderich

Michael grew up in Germany and attended a Baptist Church during that time. It wasn’t until his mid-teens though that he truly made the personal decision to give his life to Jesus at a youth camp, and following on from that, to get baptized.

After finishing High School, he came out to Australia for the first time in 2011 and served in the then called ‘Young People’s Team’ at Ellel Sydney. He experienced such a strong renewal in both, his relationship with God and personal character growth, that he felt strongly led to join the vision in reaching and training whole generations in becoming more like Christ.

He has been part of the YDT leadership team since 2013 and has had an integral role in developing the program into what it is today. He oversees the academic part of the program and is heavily involved in pastorally caring for students.

Michael is very passionate about seeing young adults embrace their own faith and experiencing God transform lives through discipleship training. Michael and his wife Christy have two children, Amy and James.
